Challenge
The Commonwealth Bank has a rich history, tightly woven into the heart of Australia. To mark the milestone of 100 years in business they wanted to present that history with a special exhibition showcasing their achievements, and to host a signature dinner.
Insight
In order to tell the story of the nation’s bank, it is necessary to focus on the people that are central to its development, focusing on everyday customers, community organisations and the greater public.
Solution
Our dedicated team worked with all areas of the bank from sports clubs, to the archives searching for the pieces of history that would really tell the true story of the Commonwealth Bank.
To begin the spectacular three day event, we hosted the signature centenary dinner. The high profile guests were treated to a spectacular show, including Bangarra Dance Theatre, Opera Australia’s children’s choir, Sarah Blasko, David Campbell and a keynote speech by the bank’s new CEO Ian Narev. A 100 metre projection surface surrounded our guests as we mapped content specific to each performance on our central stage.
For three days the Hordern pavilion was transformed into a museum displaying the Banks magnificent 100-year journey. Guests were guided through seven times zones and 250 stories by a yellow-ribbon narrative device, seamlessly linking each piece of history to the next.
